Yoneki’s father was a soldier in the Uganda People’s Defence Force. Her mother abandoned her at the age of six months, in the barracks. The father then brought the child to NOTDEC in January 1993 as he could not care for her.
“I, Kathungu Yoneki, wish to thank NOTDEC UK for the endless support rendered for my entire life. You have supported me since childhood up to the level I am now”.
Yoneki trained as a nursery teacher, and she now teaches the youngest children at the NOTDEC Uganda site.
“I will always say may God continue blessing the works of your hands and put more into your hands. Forever we shall cherish you.
Long live NOTDEC UK and long live NOTDEC UGANDA”.
