About Us

From small beginnings…

In 1984 Dorothy Nzirambi cared for motherless babies and children in her own home

To a purpose built facility…

Today, the site close to Kabirizi village in Western Uganda, is the hub of NOTDEC’s work. It comprises a development of seven purpose-built bungalows where the children are cared for by housemothers; an office block, staff accommodation, a nursery school and a multi-purpose hall/chapel.

Our long term aim…

NOTDEC’s long term aim is to resettle children, from age 5 or 6, with their birth or wider family wherever possible. Social workers trace and contact family members to identify those who are able to provide a home for the children.
