Sponsor a Child

Give hope for a future

Sponsor a child with NOTDEC

Thank you for considering sponsoring a NOTDEC child. Child sponsorship is the area where we need most support.

100% of sponsorship money goes direct to the NGO, NOTDEC UGANDA who run all on-site and off-site operations. This covers all that is necessary to care for the child – food, clothes, household items, running the on-site nursery school, school fees, medical bills, staff salaries, petrol costs etc.

Sponsorship Stories

Money Matters

Sponsorship money is sent to Uganda once a month, every month.

The minimumwe need for child sponsorship is currently £45 or £50/month. We can claim an additional 25% Gift Aid on any donation, if you are a UK taxpayer. To enable us to claim Gift Aid on your donations we need you to set up a standing order toour sponsorship account, and complete our online Gift Aid Form as detailed below:

Bank Transfer

You can set up a standing order with your bank.

Our bank details are:

Account Name: NOTDEC UK Sponsor A/C
Account Number: 00092664
Sort Code: 40-52-40

We appreciate this is a lot of money for some, so if you are unable to give the full sponsorship amount then any regular donation, even £20/month would assist in the care of a child and another sponsor would be found to cover the full costs of the child.

Some sponsors give more– if you are able to do so that would be wonderful.

Others join together with friends or family membersto raise the amount needed.

Your connection with the child you sponsor

You are connected to the child you sponsor by name. Any news about your child received during the year will be relayed to you by email.

We will request a small extra donation in December so that clothes and a toy/shoes can be purchased for your child.

Long Term Commitment

Your commitment to support for the child is until he/she leaves school or is no longer supported by NOTDEC for some other reason.  However we know that your financial circumstances may change and you may be unable to carry on with the sponsorship.  In this situation please tell us as soon as possible so we can find another sponsor for the child.

Children Living “off-site”

Once children reach the age of 4-5 years, many gradually move to live with their relatives: aunts; cousins; grandparents; fathers & stepmothers.(This is Ugandan Government policy, and far better for the child – ensuring they’re not institutionalized and develop normal social networks.)  When that happens, your ongoing support is vital.  It covers not just school fees, school lunches and scholastic materials, but also the transport and salary costs of social workers who keep a close eye on each child living with their wider family.

After The School Years

Many sponsors wish to see their child established in the world of work and continue to support their child through vocational training.  This is optional.

Final Thought

NOTDEC Uganda staff a reconcerned not only for the physical and educational needs of the children but also that each child should grow in their knowledge of God.  They would welcome your prayers for the children if you feel able to do that.

Fate soon guided the innocent, vulnerable me into the caring hands of an angel—a woman who ran Notdec children's centre. There, my life transformed. Surrounded by warmth and support, I attended school, formed friendships with other children, and blossomed in a nurturing environment. Notdec became my family, providing me not just with education, but also with love and hope, shaping my future and turning my grief into resilience. The support provided by…
